Abstract

Uniform crystalline binary microtubes in which perylene molecules are dispersed in a crystalline TPI matrix are fabricated. The perylene component plays a crucial role as an etching-assistant in the formation of the hollow tubular structure. The annular cavity of the microtubes enables them to act as waveguide modulators, in which wavelength redistribution occurs because of a remote energy relay process.
