Abstract

An adaptive waveform selection algorithm for target tracking systems in wideband environments is developed based on the minimization of the mean square tracking error which can be computed using the Cramér-Rao lower bounds. The performance advantage of the proposed adaptive waveform selection algorithm compared with minimum and maximum time band width wave forms is demonstrated by simulation examples using various waveform classes.
