Abstract

Waveform conversion is closely related to energy transmission and redistribution in a coupled structure. In this research, a modified spectral element method (SEM) is used to analyze the characteristics of waveform conversion of finite-size coupled hull grillage based on the Timoshenko elastic foundation beam theory. Based on a theoretical derivation, the energy transfer coefficient of the coupling point and the energy density of the energy efferent and afferent structure are calculated by adding a non-reflecting boundary in an SEM program to research the parameter effects on waveform conversion. This research provides useful guidance for structural design for vibration reduction at a high frequency.
