Abstract

We study propagation of anti-plane (SH) waves in a piezoelectric ceramic plate carrying a thin layer of a semicon- ducting material on each of its major surfaces. Wave attenuation and dispersion caused by semiconduction as well as wave amplification by a biasing electric field are examined.
