Abstract

The first part of this paper is mainly concerned about the development of the computer codes for the boundary element method with mixed boundary conditions (Cauchy type boundary conditions). These codes are applied to three practical problems whose analytical solutions are known to illustrate the usefulness of the method. Secondly, the numerical solution of a wave diffraction problem due to large offshore structures in ocean waves is obtained by this method. The results are found to be satisfactory.
