Abstract

We report an ultra-wide and high-power consecutive tunable mode-locked all-fiber laser source covering the spectral range from 1020 to 1090nm with a pulse-width varying from 60 to 122ps at a repetition rate of 25.4MHz. A tuning speed of 5 nm/s is achieved using a dual-armed motorized computer-controlled tunable bandpass filter is used for spectral tuning and filtering after the first stage amplification. This increases the amplification performance and suppresses the redundant amplitude spontaneous emission (ASE) noise. A power of about 2.5W was achieved at 1040nm with a side mode suppression ratio (SMSR) of 75dB, a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 66dB, and a standard power deviation of 0.1%.
