Abstract

The diffraction of water waves around cylindrical obstacles is studied, in the context of classical linearized theory. Analytical and quasi-analytical solutions are given for a plane wave scattered by one circular pile and by a distribution of many circular piles. Some numerical results are presented and possible applications of the method are suggested.
