Abstract
The experiments described were designed to investigate the relationship in wheat seeds between osmotic stress imposed by aqueous polyethylene-glycol solutions, embryo water uptake and the rate of protein synthesis as determined by [ 3 H]leucine incorporation into embryo tissues (as a measure of in vivo protein synthesis)
