Abstract

The International Water Resources Association and the AGU Section of Hydrology will cosponsor a short course on the Hierarchical Approach in the Planning, Operation, and Management of Water Resources Systems at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, from May 19 to 23, 1975. It is the fourth course in an annual series on the topic presented by the Case Institute of Technology. The purpose of the course is to present the state‐of‐the‐art in the field of large‐scale systems engineering as applied to planning and management of water resources systems. Sessions will offer discussions of applications of decomposition and multilevel optimization techniques to multiobjective functions in water resources, multiregional conjunctive use of groundwater and surface water resources and hydrologic systems, regional water control and management, flood control analysis, and recent research results and applications in current literature.
