Abstract

As reported by Khurram Saleem Joya, and co-workers in article number 1301929, nickel-oxide nanoworm-structured electrocatalysts generated in situ from neutral bicarbonate system show remarkable stability and efficiency, in addition to high anodic water oxidation current densities at moderate overpotential. The study provides a good starting point for the design of robust nanostructured materials based on self-assembled electrocatalytic systems for the direct conversion of solar energy to generate chemical feedstock and clean fuels for a sustainable future.
