On 22.12.2013 the following directives will be repealed: Council Directive 78/659/EEC on the quality of freshwaters needing protection or improvement in order to support fish life; Council Directive 79/923/EEC on the quality required of shellfish waters; Council Directive 80/68/EEC on the protection of ground water against pollution caused by certain dangerous substances; Directive 76/464/EEC, with the exception of Article 6, which was repealed when the WFD entered into force (22.12.2000).
