Water Conservation Challenges and Solutions to Preserve National Food Security

Abstract

Political security, economic security, social security, and national security have a close relationship to food security. Thus, we focus on water conservation to ensure and support national food security. Here, we also systematically summary the irrigation area and agricultural water use in our country, and analyze the challenges of food security in the view of the relationship between water resources and grain-production arrangement, agricultural water use efficiency, and farmland water conservancy investment. In light of that, we also propose some solutions and suggests, which may lay theoretic foundations for national food security.
