Abstract
The carrying capacity of regional water resources has become a hot topic in water resources research. Siwaluh watershed is one of the areas that need to be assessed for water carrying capacity because the area is very dynamic. This research aims to monitor the carrying capacity of water based on the need and availability of water in the Siwaluh watershed. The Water Carrying Capacity Assessment is based on the Regulation of the State Minister of the Environment Number 17 of 2009 concerning Guidelines for Determining the Environmental Carrying Capacity in Regional Spatial Planning. The water carrying capacity in the Siwaluh watershed is mostly in deficit, meaning domestic water demands are more significant than water availability. However, two villages have a surplus carrying capacity, namely the village in the upstream area, namely Gerdu Village, Karangpandan District and Plumbon Village, Karanganyar District. Gerdu Village and Plumbon Village have Surplus Carrying Capacity because water availability is greater than the need for water. The results of this study are expected to be used as a reference for sustainable management of water resources so that people can enjoy the water for a more decent life.
