Abstract

The water-deficient area in the southern portion of California faces the imminent need to supplement, by large quantities, the existing local and imported sources of water supply. This requires that consideration be given to the possibility of extending the use of existing sources of water by the reclamation of waste waters which would otherwise be discharged to the ocean. Presented herein is an evaluation of waste water reclamation and the relationship of the accomplishment of such projects to the forecast demands for new sources of water supply.
