Abstract
The researcher studies the waste management laws especially the ones that deal with plastic and bio-medical wastes adopted by India as well as successful practices in other jurisdictions. This is aimed at providing sustainable alternatives for proper disposal of these wastes. This is accompanied by examination of relevant judicial decisions. Since there are a plethora of policies, cases and laws, some of which have lapsed, the paper focuses upon certain select policies, laws and rules which are currently being implemented or are proposed to be implemented in the near future.
