Abstract

The results of the November 6 elections mean changes in leadership for Committees. In addition to new members coming in to the 100th Congress, the Senate majority has gone from Republican to Democratic, and with it, so have the Chairs of the Committees. The Senate Chairs and ranking members have changed, while the House Committees remain essentially the same. The exceptions are the House Science and Technology Committee, which will be chaired by Robert Roe (D-NJ), and the Armed Services Committee, which will be chaired by Les Aspin (D-CO). The following is a list of incoming majority (D) and minority (R) Chairs of the Senate Committees. For the Committee phone numbers, call the Capitol Hill Switchboard (202) 224-3121. Additional information on the composition of the 100th Congress will be available in the April publication of The U.S. Congress Handbook, a source described in the preceding issue of P A.
