Abstract
AbstractWhy are miracles successful? The language of physicians in dreams. This article shows from four different angles and with several examples how miracle stories are composed. It discusses which kind of motifs and functions are used by the authors. In particular it illustrates how the language used by the healer appearing in the patient’s dream is comparable to pagan medical terminology.
