Abstract
To study the subject to which this conference is dedicated, some help may be provided by analyzing the connections between the intellectuals who produced the discourse and committed the deeds we are trying to decipher. In this paper, author shall provide a glance at some of these relationships, and concentrate especially on the connections that took shape at the very peak of the conflict, while war was actually being waged, and all mediations were made impossible. The desire to keep Eliade and Dumezil separate in spite of their important relationship is a typical aspect of contemporary French culture, as he wrote in his half of the introduction to the Italian edition of Daniel Dubuisson's Mythologies du XXe siecle.
