Abstract
Electric Vehicles (EV) generate sound pressure lower than internal combustion engines(ICE) at low speed. Pedestrians familiar with internal combustion engines are difficult to recognize such a quite vehicles. Therefore, an additional warning sound generator is required. The warning sound must have high detectability and low annoyance to pedestrians, while complying with legislation for warning sound of various countries. In this paper, we design the electric sound with detectability and low-annoyance. An active generation system is also designed based on active sound design and in attached in the electeic vehicle to generate this sound. The sound is validated with subjective test in the running condition on the road.
