Abstract
Nu-age Editions’ bilingual publication of Kent Stetson’s Warm Wind in China makes usefully and widely accessible to readers and potential producers this highly theatrical dramatization of the predicament of gay people with aids. Stetson’s play, first produced at the Neptune Theatre, Halifax, in January 1988 and subsequently given further productions and staged readings, has received positive critical response. Ronald Guevremont’s skilful and sensitive translation, a 1989 finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Prize for translation, received its première in October 1988 at le Théâtre de l’Ile, Hull.
