Abstract

A woman with a history of diabetes mellitus, peptic ulcer disease, hypothyroidism, systemic lupus erythematous, and myasthenia gravis was admitted to the hospital for an elective thymectomy. She had a past history of deep venous thrombosis and received long-term anticoagulation therapy with warfarin. In hospital, the patient developed staphylococcal sepsis from an infected catheter. Intravenous administration of nafcillin was starded. Then, warfarin had no effects on prothrombin time
