Abstract

ABSTRACT Third party logistics (3PL) can be a fundamental asset for industrial and retail supply chains. A challenge arises when the product is not properly tracked and doesn't move out of the warehouse in a timely manner. The present research examines the common communication and interaction issues between a 3PL company and its customers. The researchers conducted a case study at a 3PL company and identified improvements for the current inventory flow process. A solution to address cargo movement was proposed in the study and implemented in the case company. At the completion of this research, the 3PL company's available warehouse space was increased for more services, an opportunity for new customers and an increase of revenue.
