Abstract

The war in Ukraine not only affects the country itself, but also impacts countries where many Ukrainian refugees seek shelter, including Poland. It is estimated that more than 3·6 million refugees have arrived in Poland since the start of the war on Feb 24, 2022, most of whom are planning to stay in the country. Among those who came to Poland are people already affected by cancer or those who will develop this disease while living in Poland, potentially creating an important challenge for Poland's oncology care system now and in the foreseeable future.
