Abstract
Most of the terrain under discussion is in the Mexican state of Guerrero, in the vicinity of the city of Taxco. This paper offers data on pilgrimage paths (Ostotempan, Chalma) and describes how spaces are made into places along the road between Ixcateopan and Taxco. Two levels of a spiritual landscape are identified and the veneration of several types of natural places and trees is highlighted.
