Abstract

Two-year-study has been made to establish the bacterial and fungal pathogens of walnut trees in Hungary. Phomopsis, Diplodia, Cytospora and Phoma were the most important species infecting the trees. Xanthomonas and Gnomonia influenced the quality of walnut, while mould fungi infected the stored walnuts. This findings help to improve the technology of plant protection.
