Abstract

Students from three successive senior classes at a small Christian college were interviewed to determine their views of spirituality. The students shared their variant definitions of the construct, gave examples of the term, and told what aspects of institutional life impacted their own spiritual growth and development. Themes which emerged from the qualitative study were: (1) a great interest in and desire for spiritual growth, (2) views of spirituality as a venture with God manifested by behavioral indicators, and (3) the power of faculty (and other students) as spiritual models and mentors.
