AbstractRetail ‐ Miscellaneous (MIC: 5.11 SIC: 5912 NAIC: 446110)Walgreen is engaged in the operation of retail drugstores. Co.'s drugstores are engaged in the retail sale of prescription and nonprescription drugs and general merchandise. General merchandise includes, among other things, cosmetics, toiletries, household items, food, beverages and photofinishing. Customers can have prescriptions filled at the drugstore counter as well as through the mail, by telephone, and on the Internet. The total number of stores at Aug. 31, 2005 was 4,950 (includes stores closed as of Aug. 31, 2005, due to Hurricane Katrina) located in 45 states and Puerto Rico. In addition, Co. operates 3 mail service facilities.
