Wake up call: UK government gets serious on future build

Abstract

Following up on its pledges in the Energy White Paper, Our Energy Future-creating a low carbon economy, published in February 2003, the UK Government has firmly signalled its intention to ensure higher standards of environmental performance in buildings for the future. Its wish list, outlined at the Better Buildings Summit, will require a significant change in practice by all sectors of the building industry. Gail Rajgor reports.
