Abstract

This Article is about the nature of contacts between the so-called “peripheral” parents and children. It discusses the issue of dependence of access rights on parental authority, over the subsequent amendments of the family law in Poland. The paper describes the basic forms of exercising contacts between parents and children. It also presents forms of regulating them in legal proceedings. The guiding principles which should guide the court in issuing decisions which determine the scope and method of contact of parents with children are pointed out in the article. It also shows the institution of “alternate care” introduced to the Family and Guardianship Code under the Act of 25 June 2015 amending the Act - Code of Family and Guardianship Code and the Law - Code of Civil Procedure, which entered into force on 29 August 2015.
