Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss the idea of applying multiobjective optimization techniques to structural optimization. First, recent developments in structural optimization techniques are briefly reviewed in terms of their problem formulations and their applications. Next, the concept of multiobjective optimization to obtain a Pareto optimal solution set is introduced, and I'll show the potential requirements of multiobjective optimization in structural optimization problems for use in design processes, such as trade-off analysis. Finally, I'll briefly review multiobjective optimization techniques and discuss several of the features required in solvers applied in multiobjective structural optimization problems.
