Abstract
Background: Occurring in 0.05-0.25/1000 births, tethered cord syndrome (TCS) is caused by fixation of the spinal cord to surrounding tissue by fibrous filum terminale, causing stretching and ischemia of the spinal cord. While common manifestations of TCS include bowel and bladder dysfunction, gait abnormalities, and neurological symptoms, this case report describes a unique presentation of TCS. The association of vulvodynia in a patient with labial adhesions as a presentation of TCS has not previously been documented.
