Abstract
In the present scenarios, the increase rate of earthquakes all over the world is becoming a challenging problem. Also, from the studies conducted by international organizations, it had been noticed that with increase in the occurrence of geophysical disasters, their magnitude had also been increasing with an alarming rate. One of the most important structures which are to be designed and analyzed with the most optimum earthquake – resistant design is of hospitals as they are not only considered to be as a caring aid, but also a curing unit to the society in case of calamities. This study involves considering an existing hospital structure located in the capital city of India, New Delhi (Zone IV). The existing hospital structure is analyzed for determination of the weak structural members during seismic action in ETABS 2019. Pushover Analysis is considered for the determination of effects of seismic forces on the structural elements of the hospital structure. IS 1893: 2016 Codal Provisions had been used for considering seismic loading on the hospital structure. Also, the most efficient section in resisting the earthquake forces is determined.
