AbstractEarth & Rock Mining (MIC: 14.5 SIC: 1422 NAIC: 212312)Vulcan Materials produces construction aggregates as well as asphalt mix and concrete. Co. is engaged in the production, distribution and sale of construction aggregates and other construction materials and related services. Construction aggregates include crushed stone, sand and gravel, rock asphalt and recrushed asphalt and concrete. Aggregates are widely used as railroad track ballast and are employed in virtually all types of construction, such as highway construction and maintenance, and in the production of asphaltic and portland cement concrete mixes. At Dec 31 2006, Co. operated 221 aggregates production facilities, including recrushed concrete plants in 17 states and Mexico.
