Abstract
To evaluate whether endometrial thickness, endometrial pattern and endometrial blood flows on the day of hCG administration using two-dimensional (2D) power Doppler ultrasound can improve pregnancy outcome in IUI cycle. Retrospective clinical study of 114 patients of unexplained infertility aged 21 to 36 years who underwent COS and IUI between June 2017 to March 2019. Transvaginal 2D and colour Doppler ultrasound were performed on the day of hCG administration and endometrial thickness, endometrial pattern and endometrial blood flow were measured and analysed in relation to IUI outcome (pregnant vs. non-pregnant). Endometrial blood flow was significantly greater on day of hCG administration in the cycles where pregnancy was obtained. Pregnancies did not occur when the endometrial blood flow was not detected. Endometrial thickness and endometrial pattern did not have any predictive value for endometrial receptivity. 2D colour Doppler was useful for evaluating endometrial blood flows in IUI cycle which may be positively associated with pregnancy outcomes.
