Abstract

Effect of higher order interactions beyond two-body interactions on the vortices in a Bose–Einstein condensate, when the gas parameter is greater than 10 − 2 , has been studied using the modified Gross–Pitaevskii–Ginzburg equation, that takes into account the presence of three-body interactions in addition to hard-core and two-body mean-field interactions. Considerable change in the critical frequency required to have a vortex with unit quantum of circulation, column density, wave function, healing length, peak value of gas parameter and various energies result, when three-body interactions are considered from the corresponding results, when only hard-core and two-body interactions are considered.
