Abstract

An experimental study of the hydrodynamic flow over a single diffuser dimple with a separated flow is carried out. The results of the study are presented, which show that the rotation of the diffuser dimple in plan by 15 deg relative to the main flow direction leads to formation of a single self-organizing large-scale vortex structure in its cavity providing a continuous mass exchange process with the external flow.
