Abstract

The vortex liquid has been studied in single-crystal YBa[sub 2](Cu[sub 1[minus][ital x]]Fe[sub [ital x]])[sub 3]O[sub 7[minus][delta]] in magnetic fields up to 8 T parallel to the [ital c] axis both with a dc-flux transformer-contact configuration and by measuring the [ital c]-axis resistivity. With current along the [ital ab] planes, the [ital c]-axis resistance drops to zero and the voltages on different [ital ab] planes become equal at a temperature [ital T][sub [ital br]]([ital B]). With increasing anisotropy, [ital T][sub [ital br]]([ital B]) decreased in agreement with a recent theory by Daemen [ital et] [ital al]. for a Josephson-coupled layered superconductor. The results for current injection along the [ital ab] planes and along the [ital c] axis are consistent with anisotropic local conductors for all samples.
