Abstract

Under the action of wave force, the vortex induced vibration will exist in submarine power cable exposed in the sea flow. In order to understand its change rule and master its working condition, the dynamic finite element model of a 500kV single-core fiber composed submarine power cable is established. The simulation calculation is carried out under the condition of 0.lm wave height, 1s cycle and Irn/s sea flow velocity. The spatial and temporal data of displacement, stress and strain along copper conductor, optical fiber unit and copper wire armor are obtained. The acceleration amplitude frequency curve of the optical fiber unit is calculated and drawn. It is found that the submarine power cables are vibrating at all layers under sea flow. The vibration energy of the optical unit is mainly concentrated in 3Hz, 11Hz and 30Hz. It can provide theoretical support for the realization of submarine power cable vortex induced vibration monitoring by using distributed optical fiber vibration sensing technology.
