Abstract

We report a case of von Recklinghausen's disease (VRD) with a tumor in the left parotid region. The patient was a 3-year-old female. Swelling of the left parotid gland. showed a tendency of gradual enlargement from about 8 months after birth. A primary benign tumor of the parotid gland was considered from an imaging diagnosis. Further, the presence of nevus complicated by VRD was also considerd, and an operation was performed, Neurofibroma was diagnosed, the tumor in the parotid region was judged to be a symptom of VRD, and a cosmetic approach was taken. The family history, should be obtained due to different physical findings and chief complaints. At present there have been no complications in other areas and the course is good.
