Abstract
Purpose: This study examines the experiences of volunteer activities of nursing students at university clubs during COVID-19 pandemic and proposes how to facilitate such activation in the future. Method: In-depth interviews were conducted enrolling 10 nursing students who had experience in volunteer activities at the university. The collected data were analyzed by a qualitative case study. The analysis classified 13 topics; similar topics were collected and consolidate into 5 categories. Results: The 5 primary categories were ‘Experience various volunteer activity methods’, ‘Opportunity to grow as a nursing major’, ‘Help with interpersonal skills’, ‘Psychological change after volunteer activities’, and ‘Efforts to vitalize volunteer activities’. Conclusion: The significance of this study is that it examines the actual experiences of nursing students participating in club volunteer activities during the COVID-19 pandemic and proposes strategies to promote the activation of such volunteer services based on these findings.
