Abstract

Prof. Jadwiga Uchman is the head of the Department of Studies in Drama and pre-18th Century British Literature, University of Lodz. She specializes in modern English Drama, especially poetic drama, the Theatre of the Absurd, T. S. Eliot, Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter and Tom Stoppard. She is the author of numerous articles and three books: The Problem of Time in the Plays of Samuel Beckett. Folia Litteria (1987), Reality, Illusion, Theatricality: A Study of Tom Stoppard (1998), and Playwrights and Directors: Samuel Beckett, Tom Stoppard and Harold Pinter (2011).
