Abstract

The volume of mixing, speed of sound, and viscosity of binary liquid mixtures composed of methyl cellosolve (1) and aliphatic alcohols (2), namely, methanol, propan-1-ol, butan-1-ol, 2-methyl-propan-1-ol, 2-methylpropan-2-ol, and pentan-1-ol are measured at 308.15 K. The results are used to derive densities and isentropic compressibilities. The excess volumes and deviations in compressibility and viscosity are discussed in terms of molecular interaction between like and unlike components
