Abstract

The electrochemical oxidation of sulfide ions has been studied in eutectic by linear sweep voltammetry using graphite electrodes at 1023 K. The oxidation is found to be reversible and diffusion controlled. A detailed analysis of the experimental results suggests the following mechanism for the oxidation of sulfide ions . The average apparent diffusion coefficient for sulfide ions is calculated to be at 1023 K.
