Abstract
It has been shown that a significant distortion of the shape of the cyclic voltammetric curves can be observed at platinized and palladized platinum electrodes in the presence of HClO4 supporting electrolytes, depending on the concentration of HClO4 and sweep rate. The phenomenon observed can be explained by the occurrence of the reduction of ClO4− ions.
