Abstract

In this work, a sensitive and selective electrochemical method using L-cysteine (L-cys) decorated MoS2 modified glassy carbon electrode (L-cys@MoS2/GCE) was developed for the determination of linagliptin (LIN). The characterization of L-cys@MoS2 was performed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), x-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The method using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) exhibited two linear working ranges in the concentration ranges of 1.0–75.0 µM and 75.0–153.4 µM with a limit of detection (LOD) value of 0.19 µM. The method was also applied to detect the LIN quantity of the plasma sample with satisfactory recovery results. To sum up, the developed method was successfully applied to the determination of LIN in bulk and plasma samples, and it may be a promising way for the detection of LIN for quality evaluation and clinical monitoring.
