Abstract

More generally, harmonics are produced when nonlinear loads are present in the system. In low and medium voltage application harmonics emissions are hazardous. In this paper, a novel UPQC is proposed for the compensation of voltage sag and voltage swell. The UPQC is handled by synchronously reference controller. The proposed approaches effectively compensated the 20% voltage sag and swell on phase A, C and 10% voltage sag and swell on phase B. The simulations are implemented in the Matlab/Simulink computer environment. The inductive UPQC maintains voltage sag and swell reduction effectively and the result demonstrates with existing methods successfully.
