Abstract

This paper focuses on modeling and design of analog voltage mode control of magnetically coupled single-input dual-output (SIDO) buck converter operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM). The converter’s small signal model is developed using the state-space average method. The model is used to design the compensator. For each output, Type-III compensator is chosen. The compensators provide simultaneous regulation of output voltages at 6V and 3. 3V which is validated by building a prototype of magnetically coupled SIDO buck converter using discrete component. The closed-loop performance with a step change of load current and the input voltage is also demonstrated. The experimental results verify the voltage mode control scheme which regulates the output voltage irrespective to the load change, input voltage change and load condition.
