Abstract

Surgical stabilization of dorsal proximal interphalangeal fracture dislocations may be required when more than 40%of the joint surface is disrupted. Volar plate arthroplasty alone, or in combination with other techniques, can be used to reduce and stabilize these difficult injuries. Attention to technical details is important in obtaining good postoperative results.
