Abstract

The research sheds some light on the fact that home automation is not only a luxury but also a necessity in terms of safety, assistance, and not to mention efficiency. The proposed home automation unites the automated approaches of regulating household appliances alongside cloud-based monitoring of temperature, humidity, and detecting earthquakes and fire. Voice command is also incorporated to control the lights, fans, and switches with the aid of Google Assistant and the IFTTT platform. These automations are done on a NodeMCU and an Arduino UNO microcontroller using several sensors and the data will onwards be stored in the cloud. Multiple sensors help to detect any unusual rise in temperature, humidity, or change in seismic activity. The objective of this research is to consolidate the safety measures regarding earthquake and fire hazards besides comprises remotely controlled household appliances.
