Abstract
Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) can ensure dose conformality and sparing of OARs reducing MUs and treatment times with respect to standard IMRT techniques. We compared IMRT step& shoot with VMAT plans for treatments of prostate and hypo-fractionated treatments of spinal and abdominal tumors, analyzing advantages and drawbacks of a single arc solution (VMAT1) with respect to a 2 rotations approach (VMAT2).
